Thursday 16th February

George was on the phone this morning and was telling me that there was a dead goose down on the shore, and along came one of the Glaucous Gulls and had his fill... Apparently, later on a Raven was down taking his pickings too, on what was left! Up behind his house, George had a Canada Goose, hutchinsii sp, amongst the Barnies that were there. A visitor was in touch with some birds over the last couple of days. A Great spotted Woodpecker was seen over close to Port Askaig, a Dipper on the burn at Kilchairan, 2 Red Grouse also over at Kilchiaran, a female Sparrowhawk at Nerabus and at Finlaggan, 3 Crossbills were present.
