Thur 3rd November 2011
Lots of thrushes on the move. Bob reported fieldfares and redwing at Port Charlotte and at Ardnave there were redwing all along the road side. Golden eagles also featured at Loch Gruinart with the 2nd year bird still putting the geese up, and adult bird at Ardnave.
Don't forget to watch Islay on Autumn watch tomorrow night.
For those of you visiting Islay or Jura, please send your sightings to us here at islaybirds@gmail.com To contribute and get bird news as it happens, message 07919941750 to join our WhatsApp group while here.
Some less common species require descriptions (ideally with a photo) for them to be accepted into the records of the Argyll Bird Club (ABC), Scottish Ornithologist's Club (SOC) or as national rarities (BBRC). A list of species requiring descriptions by ABC and SOC can be found on the ABC website. Details and photographs of all rare bird sightings should be sent in (preferably emailed) as soon as possible after the sighting to Jim Dickson, 11 Pipers Road, Cairnbaan, Lochgilphead, Argyll PA31 8UF. Tel: 07985 726209. E-mail: Argyllbirder@outlook.com.
