As forecasted the strength of the wind picked up, the ferry managed a couple of trips between Port Askaig and Kennacraig, so allowing essential traffic both on and off Islay, meanwhile the Jura ferry never left Port Askaig, at least the kids from Jura that come over to the High School in Bowmore had a day off school... Peter and Pia had done a "100 minute" spell doing some sea watching while the visibility was still good. Their totals were as follows, 5 Red throated Divers (mainly in summer plumage), 442 Manx Shearwater, 25 Fulmar, 436 Gannets (only 8 youngsters), 18 Razorbills/ Guillemots, 2 Puffin, 7 Kittiwake, 2 Great Skua and 6 Arctic Terns. George, just before lunchtime, had a Dark phase Arctic Skua out in front of his house, over Loch Indaal. Down at Port Charlotte there were 3 Arctic Terns over the bay.
