The day started dry, with light winds. There was more sunshine and warmth in the morning, but clouded over by afternoon and became a little cooler.
The only bird notes for today so far comes from Val Peacock who saw a Merlin over the Port Charlotte allotments this evening and from Martin Armstrong who found a Kingfisher on the River Sorn at Bridgend - the spot where this species most often shows up on the rare occasions it occurs on Islay.
Billy Stitchell was out with his camera at Ballygrant Loch today and sends in the photos below of the resident Long-tailed Tits.
