A senior moment last Wednesday when I wrote that Bob had a count of 400 Ravens, it was 400 Rooks, perhaps my shorthand was not up to scratch...Today was another goose count, and Malcolm had been doing the run along past Port Ellen out to Claggain Bay and then out to the Oa, quite a stretch. Apart from the geese he had seen 5 Whoopers Swans down close to Laphroaig and a male Hen Harrier later on over at Risabus on the Oa. Back on Sunday James had a Treecreeper on the reserve at Gruinart, and today James had 7 Gadwall on the floods and also 10 Fieldfare in the field next to his house. Anna, who has recently come to work here on Islay, had a dog Otter in Loch Indaal at Port Charlotte, on her commute to work in Bowmore this morning!
