Tuesday 15th May
Another image from Tony Matthews, could this be an Oystercatcher's nest or even a Common Gull possibly, open to debate.... Today James had a pair of Whitefronts on the reserve at Gruinart. RAFOS gave me through some sightings from today. A juv. White tailed Sea Eagle was seen from the low road close to The Machrie, also seen in the same area was a male Hen Harrier out quartering his patch. Down at Rockside, big John, not tall John, or John O, had a count of 60 Whimbrel. Back here at home, they had 20 Chough on the wing over the crag, a Buzzard and a Golden Eagle. We watched out the kitchen window this evening and saw 3 Jackdaws putting a Fulmar off its' nest, wonder if they have been chasing other Fulmars away as well.
