Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd October

Sunshine for two days with not too much wind as this lovely autumn continues. Tuesday's only record was of three Mistle Thrushes at Ellister seen by Mary Redman. Today at Gruinart, Clive counted 10 Little Egrets,. one more than yesterday, plus 37 Barnacle Geese, his first for a little while. And in the morning, Mary saw four Chough at Claddach, plus a Sparrowhawk, and in a lovely phrase said that the sea off the Rhinns was glittering with Kittiwakes yesterday and today. The final observation was by Mandy H of a Kestrel flying over the road between Rockmountain and Foreland.
