Monday 16th November

Some sightings from David and Pat from Friday, they had seen a Kestrel at Scarrabus, a Pink footed Goose was in a turnip field where there had been some whitefronts earlier on the same day and they had a couple of Redpolls at Coullabus and finally 6 Black Guillemots were present off Bunnahabhain on the Sound of Islay. Thanks for your birds folks, and also to Armin for his too! Dave had 103 Whoopers at Kinnabus on Saturday afternoon, but these were not seen on Sunday morning, but a further 84 were counted on Loch Kinnabus on Sunday afternoon. Dave also had over 200 Redwings on Saturday as well. George Jackson had seen 50 Whoopers fly down Loch Indaal on Saturday. Yesterday, Bob had a Glaucous Gull at Uiskentuie. Today, Bob and Garry had seen 5 Pink footed Geese at Rockside this afternoon. This morning, 41 Whoopers flew out past our house early on, then a 14, 10 and finally 9... surely they should mostly be through by now, all the same great to see them battling against the strong winds....We should have done the WeBS count yesterday, but the weather was not kind to us, and today was not much better, another day..
