Earlier this week, James had carried out a count on the floods on the reserve at Gruinart. The "scores on the doors" were as follows, 509 Teal, 3 Little Grebe, 249 Lapwing, 16 Black tailed Godwit, 2 Moorhens, 138 Wigeon, 35 Shoveler, 2 Heron, 57 Pintail, 12 Mute Swans, 111 Mallard, 1 Red breasted Merganser, 6 Gadwall, 1 Water Rail and 1 Sparrowhawk.
