Tuesday 20th October

Another dreich sort  of a day, so may be just as well that I  kept some sightings from yesterday!!

Mike Hill had a Merlin zip across the road in front of him down at the Coastguards' houses late yesterday afternoon.

Teresa Morris had the GWF with the collar fitted to it  yesterday and I received some more information on the goose through from Tony Fox this afternoon..

"AAY was an adult female caught at Craigens in February 2017, which has wintered there or thereabouts every year since."

Yesterday, Steve Percival had seen a Cackling Canada goose up at Grainel over at Gruinart. He also had a W t Eagle down at Bridgend as well.

Also yesterday, Richard Belter had seen a ringtail Hen Harrier on the reserve at Gruinart and counted 40 Pintail there too. He too had seen the W t Eagle down at Bridgend as well...

Today, well the weather did not deter Eddie and Elaine Prince from seeing a juvenile Yellow Wagtail out from the North Hide at Gruinart.

James today had carried out a count of the geese present on the reserve at Gruinart with his totals coming to " Barnacle Geese 15,868, Whitefronts 239, Greylag 28, and a Peregrine"
